I have prepared my chips in regular daily use vegetable oil. As the name suggests, these chips are made of raw banana. You can enjoy banana chips during tea-time or as a mid-meal snack.

Hello foodies ! Today’s recipe is a 10 min ‘Quick Creamy Fruit Salad’.  You can have it during iftar/sehri during Ramadan and it can also be served as dessert when guests come over for party/dinner/lunch. Ingredients for Creamy Fruit Salad

Mango (chopped)         1

Pomegranate                  1

Banana                               3

Sweet lime                        1

Full cream (small           1

size tetra pack)

Sugar (optional)             2-3 tbsp (as per your taste)

Procedure for Creamy Fruit Salad

  • Wash, peel and chop mango and sweet lime in small pieces.
  • Wash and remove pomegranate seeds and mix it with other fruits.

  • Take a deep bowl, add cream and sugar.

  • Mix cream and sugar perfectly.

  • When sugar completely dissolve, add fruits in bowl.  At this time cut bananas and add to the bowl.
Add freshly cut banana.

  • Stir everything and creamy fruit salad is ready.
  • Serve it chilled.

Note:
  • This salad can be made with mix of any fruits of your choice like apple, grapes, pineapple, berries or kiwis.
  • For crunch you can add dry fruit in this salad.
  • In case you want to skip sugar you can add your favourite sugar form.
  • You can prepare this salad with coconut cream also.

 

Banana Chia Seeds Lassi (rose flavoured smoothie)

Happy Ramadan everyone ! Today’s recipe is ‘Banana Chia Seeds Lassi’. You can have this super energetic drink for your iftar as well as sehri. Lassi is basically a blend of yogurt, water, spices or fruit. Sweet lassi however contains either sugar or honey. You can enjoy this lassi as summer drink during any meal.

Benefits of Banana chia seeds lassi:

  1. Banana-  Bananas are an excellent source (20% or more of the Daily Value, DV) of vitamin B6 (31% DV) and contain moderate amounts of manganese (13% DV), vitamin C and dietary fiber (10% DV each).
  2. Yogurt-  yogurt (plain Greek yogurt from whole milk) is 81% water, 9% protein, 5% fat and 4%carbohydrates, including 4% sugars.
  3. Chia seeds A 100-gram serving of chia seeds is a rich source of the B vitamins, thiamine, and niacin (54% and 59%, respectively of the Daily Value (DV), and a good source of the B vitamins riboflavin and folate (14% and 12%, respectively). The same amount of chia seeds is also a rich source of the dietary minerals calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, and zinc (more than 20% DV).

Ingredients for Banana Chia Seeds Lassi

Banana (ripe)  1 cup

Plain Curd/yogurt   1 ½ cup

Sugar 2 tbsps

Rooh afza 1 tbsp

Chia seeds soaked in water 2 tsps

Ice cubes 7-8

Full cream 2 tsp

Procedure for Banana Chia Seeds Lassi

  • Peel and cut ripe bananas in small piece.

  • Soak chia seeds in water for 3-4 mins.

  • Blend all ingredients mentioned in the list until smooth. Check consistency of lassi, adjust it with more ice cubes or milk if you want thin consistency.

  • Serve it immediately !

Note:

  • Sugar can be replaced by honey if you are looking for healthier version of this recipe.
  • Instead of rooh afza you can opt for edible rose-water.
  • Quantity of sugar totally depends upon your banana’s sweetness. So please check it in advance.
