Method for Mumbai Style – Kala Chana Chaat –

  • Wash and soak Kala chana for at least 4-5 hours.

  • Drain water and boil the kala chana till soften. 
  • In a pan, heat oil, add kala chana, cook for 2-3 mins on high heat. (On low flame chana will turn hard, so avoid cooking on low flame. )

  • Next, add salt and cook for 1 min more. 

  • Cover and cook for 2-3 mins more.

  • After that, add red chilli powder, mix well and cook for one more min. 

  • Now, add chopped onion, tomato and green chillies, coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  • Mix well. (Due to some technical reason I am not been able to upload this step’s image.)

 

  • Lastly, add chaat masala, roasted cumin powder and lemon juice. Mix well. 

  • Serve immediately with nylon sev.
