Kadhai Paneer | How to make kadhai paneer

Today’s recipe is ‘Kadhai Paneer’. It is a semi-dry paneer preparation which can be served as a main course dish along with paratha/roomali roti/chapati. It is a quick and easy paneer recipe which is can be added to the casual as well as party lunch/dinner menu.

For this recipe, you will need – paneer, capsicum, yoghurt, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and few spices. I have cut paneer into thin strips/ cubes and capsicums in thin strips/juliennes. For this recipe, I have used capsicum of all three colours, you can use green capsicum only.

Method for Kadhai Paneer

  • Wash and cut capsicums into juliennes. Keep it aside.

  • Cut paneer into thin cubes/strips.

  • In a pan, dry roast whole red chilli and coriander seeds.

  • Let red chillies and coriander seeds cool down. Ground them in powder. Keep this powder aside.

  • Heat oil; add the ginger garlic paste and chopped tomato to it. Saute well.

  • Add the grounded roasted powder and fry.

  • Add the dried fenugreek leaves, salt and garam masala. Cook well.

  • Now, add the capsicums and saute well.

  • Next, add the paneer and stir well.

  • Mix water and yoghurt in the pan, stir again.

  • Simmer for few minutes, check the seasoning.

  • Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
