Today’s recipe is ‘Gur ke Gulgule’. It is a soft and spongy sweet fritter dish, which people enjoy during monsoon season. Normally in India, we prepare fritters or pakoras from gram flour/besan, but these are made from wheat flour. As it is sweet in taste, for sweetness we use jaggery. Gulgule is a hit dish among every age group of North India.
For Gur ke Gulgule, you will need –
Jaggery, wheat flour, water, saunf, baking soda, cardamom and oil. This recipe has many variants where some add a banana or mango or sugar for sweetness.
