Chicken Spring Roll | How to make spring rolls

Today’s recipe is ‘Chicken Spring Roll’. Spring rolls are rolled starters/snacks which are filled with the variety of stuffings. It can be made by using homemade or readily available frozen sheets. These rolls are crunchy from outside and soft from inside. You can serve it with spicy ketchup or chutney.

For Chicken Spring Roll, you will need –

Boiled shredded chicken, spring roll sheets, veggies like capsicum, carrots, cabbage, few spices and sauces. The first step is to prepare veggie-chicken stuffing by stir frying veggies and chicken with sauces and spices. The second step is to stuff the roll with the filling and deep-fry crisp spring rolls.

Method for Chicken Spring Roll -

  • Boil chicken and shred chicken. Keep it aside.

  • Wash and cut all the veggies finely.

  • In a deep pan heat oil, add finely chopped garlic. Fry for few seconds.

  • Add all the vegetables one by one in order of cooking time they take. Stir-fry vegetables.

  • We do not want to overcook our veggies as we are going to deep-fry our rolls.

  • In the veggies, add shredded chicken. Mix well.

  • Next, add red chilli flakes, salt and crushed black peppercorn. Mix well.

  • In the veggie chicken mix lastly, add red chilli sauce, soya sauce, and green chilli sauce. Mix well.

  • Keep the stuffing to cool down completely.

  • Take one spring roll sheet at a time. Place it like as shown in the pic below.

  • Place stuffing at one corner.

  • Start folding your sheet as shown in the steps below.

  • Apply wheat flour paste to seal the rolls properly and neatly.

  • Repeat same steps for remaining rolls also. (Note: you can store spring roll in the freezer to fry later or can fry immediately.)

  • Heat oil.
  • Start frying rolls till crispy and golden brown in colour.

  • Remove on an absorbent paper.
  • Serve hot with ketchup or any chilli garlic chutney or sauce of your choice.
