Milk Powder Coconut Rolls (Quick sweet recipe)

Today my blog completes one year, thank you all of you for supporting Rasoi Recipe. Here is something sweet and quick for all my lovely readers. Today’s recipe is  ‘Milk Powder Coconut Rolls’. It is quick and no heat/gas recipe. If you are a coconut mithai (dessert/sweet) lover just like me, do try it.

I have very fond memories of this sweet, it was at one time a compulsory sweet dish on our Eid table. This recipe is perfect for every celebration. All you need for this recipe is desiccated coconut, milk powder and powdered sugar. The best part is you can store this sweet for at least a week in an air tight container.

Duration: 15 mins (prep time) + 1 hour (setting time)

Ingredients for Milk Powder Coconut Rolls:

Milk powder1 cup
Desiccated coconut1/2 cup
Powdered sugar/icing sugar1/4 cup
Milk2-3 tsp or as required for a smooth dough
Edible color (your choice of color)2-3 pinch
Gheefor greasing

Method for Milk Powder Coconut Rolls:

  • In a mixing bowl add milk powder, desiccated coconut and powdered sugar. Mix well.

  • Divide the mix in two equal parts. Add edible color (I have used orange color) of your choice in one part and mix well. Keep aside.

  • Now with the help of very less quantity of milk prepare a smooth dough of both mix.

  • Roll dough mix like a chapati of 1/2″ thickness. If it is difficult for you to roll the dough, grease a plastic and then roll dough as shown below. Keep it aside.

  • Just like first roll, repeat same steps for second roll.

  • Now keep both the discs over each other.

  • Prepare a roll, cover it with aluminium foil or plastic sheet and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  • After one hour, remove sheet and start cutting roll in equal size pieces. (You will get a beautiful pattern of two colors on each piece.)

  • Serve it immediately or store in an air-tight container.


  • You can use silver foil to decorate or garnish this sweet.
  • Instead of using color, you can use coco powder in this recipe.

नारियल रोल्स बनाने की विधि –

  • एक मिक्सिंग बाउल में मिल्क पाउडर , नारियल का बुरादा और पिसी हुई शक्कर अच्छे से मिला लें।

  • ऊपर बनाये गए मिक्स को दो हिस्सो में बाँट लें। उसमे से एक हिस्से में खाने वाला कलर अच्छे से मिला लें।

  • थोड़े से दूध की मदद से दोनों मिक्षरण का टाइट आटा गूँथ लें।

  • गुँथे हुए आटे की १/२” की चपाती बना लें। अगर बनाने में मुश्किल आ रही हो तो, एक प्लास्टिक पे घी लगा लें और उस के बाद बेलना शुरू करें। इस मिक्स से बनी चपाती को अलग रख दें।

  • पहले बने हुए रोल की तरह ही रंग मिले हुए आटे की भी चपाती बना लें।

  • अब दोनों चपाती को एक दूसरे के ऊपर रख दें।

  • दोनों चपाती को रोल बना दें।  एल्युमीनियम फॉयल या प्लास्टिक में रोल को कवर कर लें। रोल को कम से कम एक घंटे के लिए referigerator में रखें।

  • एक घंटे बाद फ्रिज से निकल कर रोल को अपनी पसंद की साइज में काट लें।

  • तुरंत परोसें या फ्रिज में रख के बाद में इस्तेमाल करें।
